Some lovely friends of mine are opening a new business in Glasgow’s West End which will offer tuition, supplies and equipment for hire in all kinds of craft disciplines from sewing to knitting, screen-printing to jewellery making.
They’re a really wonderful couple and I’ve been SO excited reading about all the preparations and taster classes they’ve been working on over the last few weeks (The Life Craft Blog).
They’re now also in the running for the Barclays Take One Small Step competition which could win them a generous prize and really secure a great start in this new venture. So, will you back their idea?

It’s been a busy month and the next fortnight is looking to be just as hectic :)
In the coming weeks I shall be finishing work and then assisting with the hanging for the college exhibition, attending the opening and schmoozing people into large purchases(hopefully), attending final fittings for the HND Fashion Show and then erm, strutting my stuff on the catwalk!
On top of this, SpoiltPig is also providing the jewellery for the HND Fashion Show, yaay! It’s going to be a fantastic night and I’ve decided it’s the right time to properly launch “SpoiltPig Couture” collection too.
Sooooo to keep SpoiltPig fans included and involved in the new happenings, I’m hosting ANOTHER giveaway!

The Couture Collection will be launched and online on the 7th June 2010 so I’ll be drawing ONE lucky winner at random on the 1st June, to make sure they get their surprise Couture Heart necklace before anyone else!
I’m not unveiling anything until the very last minute, a little because it’s a huge secret and a little because I haven’t put the finishing touches to anything yet! Yaay! I got my package today from Natalie Wilson (aka Nat’s Nest) for the Felidae Craft Swap! I’m such a huge fan of Natalie’s work. She’s an incredibly talented artist, textile and fashion designer and creator of these gorgeous little creatures:

SO…as I organised the Felidae Craft swap, you may be suspicious and thinking I paired us up on purpose. I promise I didn’t though! It was completely random, honest!
Natalie has been a fantastic swap partner, I LOVE EVERYTHING…

My little Cat Creature is called Neko, inspired by the Japanese Lucky Cat – isn’t she adorable?! My extra treat to an original Natalie Wilson watercolour, printed on a card has sent me over the moon, it’s so beautiful…I’m ashamed to say that I’ll never be able to actually give this to anyone, it’ll have to be framed for my wall I think :)
To top it all off (as if I haven’t been spoiled enough), Nat has also sent me a whole heap of gorgeous fabric samples. I’ll have to take individual photos at some point to really show off all the prints…that’s if they don’t all disappear into other projects by then! I’ve already set aside some of the sequin fabric and an anchor print sample for current projects in college.

So today marks the end of the Cat Swap! I as usual left it till today to post, right on the deadline…but I’m just back from my unsuccessful posting expedition, apparently it’s a local holiday :( I hope my partner doesn’t mind too much, I promise it’s worth the wait!
If anyone else is having trouble posting out today, just make sure your swap partner knows when to expect their presents and I’m sure it’ll all be cool.
I really can’t wait to see what everyone’s made for this swap.
