Just a quick update as it’s all very busy here with preparations for the Edinburgh Fringe festival! (You can find us on the High St 13th-19th August, will update before then with more details.)
. . . . . .
Last night was the final part of the latest Glasgow Resin Workshop which went fantastically well. In between the wine and fine cake, we found time to make some really rockin’ jewels…

Next weekend (Sat 6th of August) will see Spoiltpig Jewellery and I Love Lexy return to the local craft market scene after a very long stint at manic, city-centre markets.. and this time we’ll be trading together as Freak Carousel! It’s been a while since either of us attended the Aberdeen craft bazaar and we’ve really missed the great handicrafts, friendly chatter and home-baking that you find at these out-of-town events. Luckily we’ve found a great new market down here in Glasgow of the same kind and they’ve accepted us as stall holders next month…
. . . . .
I’d also like to take the time to mention our good friends at The Life Craft.
I’ve had many good coffees, cakes, chat and crafty advice from this creative hub in Glasgow’s West end and am sad to hear that they will be closing doors on the 20th of August 2011.
I’ve been promised that they’ll be back in new premises in the near future but if you’re in the area, I strongly recommend popping in for the crafting cafe experience (and to take advantage of the 30% off sale!) before they close(or sell out of all the great wool!).
. . . . . .
I think that’s about all I can fit in for this evening..there are a million new things happening with Freak Carousel and hopefully I’ll get a chance to blog about them soon. In the meantime, keep an eye on the facebook page for new updates.
xoxo
Granny Would Be Proud
Aug 13 2010
“Granny Would Be Proud” is the bestest Vintage & Crafts event in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD (Glasgow…west end…okay, Vinecombe St -I think that’s a claim I can safely make, but it IS awesome).
“Small but perfectly formed vintage and craft fair, followed by down to earth fashion and craft lovers, enough love for all, from Punks to Goths, Retro to Indie. Smiley sellers guaranteed, very affordable (nothing over £50), retro and games tea room.”
. . . .
GWBP has made a cosy wee home in the Hillhead Bookclub and SpoiltPig is thrilled to be part of the furniture now and exhibiting at the fair again THIS SUNDAY 15th August 2010.
Please do stop by. Come check out the all the unique, handmade designer wares and vintage and retro fashions….you may even like to pick yourself(me) up a gramophone filled with delicious cocktails(true story, they really do have gramophones filled with booze)!
SEE YOU THERE
EDIT: Yes, we’re still on for Sunday…but i forgot to mention that the delightful Bunny from “Bunny and The Misshapes” is swapping the microphone for ‘making’ this weekend and will be joining me at the table with her own unique collection of re-worked vintage pieces and beaded jewellery. Exciting!
